The reception

The reception is usually the first thing that our customers see when they are entering our hair salon. And for that reason, we should do everything we can to make such space nice-looking and welcoming. But how to achieve it?

First of all, the desk cannot be too high, as clients do not feel comfortable when the person they are speaking with is hiding behind such furniture. Make sure that they can speak face-to-face. Of course, the style and color of the front desk should also match the interior design of the whole place. Don’t forget to add some nice accessories like for example a clock on the wall, some paintings or a vase with fresh flowers. Additionally, some salons also have the tendency to arrange a wall full of salon hair care products and alike range of cosmetics. This too can be considered as an option.

The waiting room

You have to be aware of the fact that the waiting room in your hair salon is a very important place. This is exactly where the customers’ visit in your salon starts, and it should be a pleasant experience right from the beginning.

That is why, every waiting room needs to be equipped with a really comfortable sofa and matching armchairs or just chairs, depending on how much space you can use. Your customers should get a chance to relax even before you can serve them, so it would be a good idea to provide them with something to drink, like tea, coffee or water and even some snacks. A large selection of various magazines and newspapers is a must. Some hair salons also install TVs running promotional material or even a playlist of the best rap music videos of all time in their waiting rooms, so the clients can entertain themselves. However, some nice music is also a good idea.

The right hairdressing furniture and accessories

When you’re getting into the barber business, apart from hairdresser’s skills, the most crucial thing in a good hair salon is the professional hairdressing furniture and accessories. That is exactly the reason why you should take some time while choosing for example the right styling chairs or backwash units. Do not hurry, read some reviews about certain products and try them out before the purchase. Remember that you shouldn’t try to save money on such things as furniture and accessories, because at some point it may backfire on you. Choosing equipment made by reputable producers with proper experience in creating such products is the best choice. Of course, in such case, you will probably have to spend some more money, but you need to be aware of the fact that it is an investment that will eventually pay off.

What is more, when buying hairdressing furniture or accessories for your barber business, make sure that they are the guarantee of comfort not only for your clients, but also your employees. They shouldn’t have any problems with adjusting such equipment to their needs. They have to able to easily regulate the height of the styling chairs or the position of backwash units. The same goes for the accessories such as scissors, combs, hairdryers or hair straighteners, as they should be easy to handle, good quality products.

In case of furniture for our hair salon, you also need to make sure that they are in the same style, as the design of the whole place needs to be coherent. There is nothing worse than the space which is a total hotchpotch of different styles, which do not match each other at all. You may think that it doesn’t really matter, as long as you provide your clients with professional service, but in fact it can make them and also people who work at your hair salon feel really uncomfortable.

So before, you start to furnish your hair salon, think carefully about the final effect. Decide on what style do you generally like and stick to it while purchasing the hairdressing furniture, but also choosing the paint colour. Remember that it should be a place where your clients can finally relax and let themselves experience a little bit of luxury.
