The safety and health of the swimmers in a commercial pool entirely depend upon the use of efficient equipment, and the proper balance of the water. Although the water in a swimming pool may appear clear, it may contain bacteria. To avoid the risk of diseases to swimmers, the use of efficient equipment is appropriate.

Apart from that, some equipment also become important to ensure swimming pool safety to prevent accidents or slip-and-fall injuries. While water safety and sanitation are important, this aspect of ensuring safety while outside the pool should also be something to think about. Splashback from the pool tends to make the edges of the pool wet, which means that there are higher chances of injury. Some safety measures could be put in place, and apart from that, precautions like installing barriers that follow certain guidelines similar to those outlined for pool barrier safety compliance should be considered so that swimmers and other people at the pool can have a safe and fun time.

Despite pool equipment not being ultimately glamourous, they are the most important factors when it comes maintaining the pool’s water quality. Each piece of pool equipment serves a specific function and is of relevant importance when it comes to managing the pool.

  1. The pool pump

The pool pump is the ultimate soul and heart of your pool. It allows the water in your commercial pool to circulate and filter appropriately. The pool pump creates the flow of water in your pool enabling it to distribute chemicals present in the pool water evenly.

The circulation of the chemicals ensures your pool water undergoes effective sanitisation. The pump also carries water to the heater (although you may have a seperate heat pump pool heater as part of your setup), chlorinator, and filters guaranteeing the water is heated, sanitised, and filtered. Having an efficient pool pump enables you to turn over the pool water according to the number of times recommended each day.

  1. The pool filter

The cleanliness of your pool can either draw customers to your pool or push them away. To help you maintain cleanliness on your pool, it is essential to have a working pool filter. An efficient pool filter allows you to keep the pool water sparkling, and free from too many chemicals and impurities.

It does not matter the type of filter you prefer to use; its effectiveness should offer swimmers a sense of peace, and a feeling of safety while diving into the pool.

  1. The pool automation system

The most critical maintenance aspect of a commercial pool is its chemical balance. A pool with an imbalance of PH levels can be dangerous. To help ensure that your pool has the appropriate balance of chemicals, the automation system comes into effect.

An efficient automation system enables you to measure the ORP, sanitizer levels, and PH of the pool. After surveying the different chemical levels, you can then dispense the appropriate chemical amounts to your pool.

  1. The dosing pumps

Just like its name, a dosing pump is useful in a commercial pool since it assists in delivering doses of chlorine or anti-bacterial treatments into the water. This pump uses a controlled and steady rate to ensure the efficient distribution of chlorine.

An active dosing pump allows you to regulate the amount of discharge, its rate, the working pressure, and the fluid temperature. You can effectively control the amount of chlorine or anti-bacterial treatment you dispense to the pool.

You can also connect the pump to a controller or water meter. Ensure that the pump contains a manual control on/ off button, and a timer.

To ensure that your pool equipment is efficient, ensure you maintain them. Taking good care of all your pool equipment allows them to stay longer, and offer you appropriate services. Remember, without the relevant pool equipment your commercial pool will never meet the standards of health and sanitation required.
